October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month — and this is the perfect time to pause and think about you. Your health matters. Your peace of mind matters. And early detection truly can save lives — maybe even your own or someone you love. |
| |
|
If you don’t have insurance, you’re not alone — and you’re not out of options. Through the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP) and other local partnerships, you can get access to important screenings, helpful information, and treatment resources without worrying about the cost. These programs are designed with you in mind, so nothing stands in the way of your care.
Here’s the truth: breast cancer is still one of the most common health challenges women face, but catching it early makes all the difference. When you take that step to schedule a screening, you’re doing more than just protecting your health — you’re giving yourself peace of mind, confidence, and hope for the future.
This month, as we honor and support those affected by breast cancer, remember this: you’re not in this alone. Every appointment, every conversation, every moment of awareness matters. And together, we can make sure no one faces their health journey without support, encouragement, and care. Cliff Sweazey / Executive Director |

| I came to Hope Healthcare Services without insurance, just looking for help with some pain I couldn’t ignore. Another clinic said it wasn’t serious, but the team at Hope took the time to look deeper. Their volunteer specialist found something the others missed — early-stage cancer. I was able to get treatment right away, and it saved my life. Hope didn’t just treat me; they listened and made sure I got the care I needed when it mattered most. - A Grateful Patient |

| Caring for the Whole You
October isn’t just about pumpkins and falling leaves — it’s also a time to pause and focus on something just as important: our mental health. Each year on October 10, World Mental Health Day invites us to reflect on the importance of caring for our minds just as we care for our bodies — because true health is whole self health. |
|
|
Mental and emotional well-being affect every part of our lives — our relationships, our work, our physical health, and even our faith journey. Yet far too often, mental health needs go unaddressed, especially for those without insurance or access to affordable care.
At Hope Healthcare Services, we believe every person deserves support, healing, and hope — body, mind, and spirit. That’s why we offer licensed professional counseling sessions for just $30 per session for those without insurance. Our team of experienced counselors is here to walk alongside you through challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship struggles, grief, and more — and appointments are readily available.
This month, let’s remember: seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know could benefit from talking with a counselor, please reach out — and share this resource. Because when we care for our mental health, we’re caring for the whole person God created us to be.

Heavenly Father,
In a world that often moves too quickly and weighs too heavily on our hearts, we pause to seek Your peace. Grant us the courage to be honest with ourselves — to notice our thoughts, name our feelings, and care for our minds as faithfully as we care for our bodies.
Teach us to listen to the signals You have built into us — the tension that asks for rest, the worry that calls for prayer, the fatigue that reminds us to slow down. Help us to be aware of how our bodies and minds work together, and to treat both as sacred gifts worthy of care and attention.
Remind us that seeking help is not weakness but wisdom, and that You walk beside us through every anxious thought, every heavy burden, and every small victory. Help us to extend the same grace to ourselves that You so freely offer, and to extend compassion to those who are struggling silently.
May we find rest in Your presence, renewal in Your Word, and strength in community. Shape our hearts to be aware, our minds to be steady, and our spirits to be anchored in hope. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. |
|
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NIV) |
