Freedom, Faith, and the Blessing of Hope
Letter from the Director | July 2026
As we celebrate the Fourth of July this year, we also mark a remarkable milestone in our nation’s history: 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
It is a season that invites us to pause and give thanks. We are blessed to live in a country where freedom is not just a word, but a gift we have received, a responsibility we carry, and a blessing we should never take for granted. Freedom allows us to worship, to serve, to give, to care for our neighbors, and to live out our faith in ways that bring hope and healing to others.
At Hope, I often think about freedom in another way as well.
For many of the individuals and families we serve, the lack of health insurance can feel like a heavy burden. It can mean delaying care, ignoring symptoms, living with pain, worrying about medication costs, or wondering where to turn when something is wrong. That kind of fear can be exhausting.
But when someone learns that Hope is here, that they can receive affordable medical, dental, and mental health care regardless of their situation, something begins to lift. There is freedom in knowing you are not alone. There is freedom in knowing you have a place to turn. There is freedom in being treated with dignity, compassion, and respect. There is freedom in having one less thing to worry about when life already feels overwhelming.
That is part of the blessing of this ministry.
Hope exists because people in our community believe that everyone deserves access to quality, compassionate care. It exists because volunteers, donors, churches, businesses, providers, and partners choose to serve others. It exists because God continues to open doors and provide through the generosity and faithfulness of His people.
As we celebrate this season of freedom, I am especially thankful for the privilege of serving God and serving His people through Hope. I am thankful to live in a country where we can come together as a community, respond to real needs, and care for our neighbors in tangible ways. I am thankful for every person who helps make this mission possible.
This Fourth of July, may we celebrate not only the freedom we enjoy, but also the opportunity we have to use that freedom to love, serve, and bless others.
Thank you for being part of this work of bringing hope, help, and healing to our community.
Blessings,
