May is Mental Health Awareness Month—a time to shine a light on an often-overlooked part of our well-being. At Hope Healthcare Services, we believe that true healing means caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Every patient story reminds us that emotional and mental wellness are just as vital as physical health. |

This month, we honor the courage of those who take that first brave step to seek support, and we celebrate the compassionate counselors, volunteers, and partners who walk alongside them. From those navigating grief or trauma to families working through life’s everyday stressors, the care offered through our mental health services brings comfort, clarity, and hope.
Your support makes this healing possible. By giving, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, you help ensure that no one faces their struggles alone. Thank you for being a voice of compassion and a source of hope. Together, we’re making mental health a priority—and that is something worth sharing. Cliff Sweazey / Executive Director |

| "When I came to Hope, I was overwhelmed and didn’t know where to turn. I had lost my job, my insurance, and I was struggling with anxiety. I never thought I’d be able to afford counseling, but Hope welcomed me with kindness.
My counselor helped me understand what I was feeling and how to manage it. Every session gave me tools and hope. Today, I’m back on my feet—and I carry what I learned with me every day." – Maria, Hope Client

We’re so grateful to our friends at the Lions Club for their generous support of Hope Healthcare Services! Thanks to your gift, we’ve installed a new medical exam room light—a bright addition that will quite literally help us shine a light on our patients, improving care and visibility for our providers.
The Lions Club does so much to strengthen our community—from supporting vision care and health initiatives to championing youth programs, disaster relief, and local service projects. May is our National Mental Health Awareness month. It was established by Mental Health America in 1949. Mental health issues often develop out of stressful or even traumatic circumstances. Some people are impacted by processes happening internally. These may include disruptions in physiological, hormonal or neurological processes. Anxiety, depression, grief, relational difficulties, or developmental concerns such as ADHD or Autism spectrum, are just a few of the common experiences that might impact someone’s mental health.

Whatever the reason, people struggling with mental health issues benefit from supportive social and medical networks that can offer collaborative care.
Refining Grace Counseling is a professional counseling group that works from a Christian world view. We have a collaboration with Hope Healthcare, offering low-cost mental health counseling for patients that use their clinic. In addition to our Avon location inside Hope Healthcare we also have offices in Lebanon, IN at Central Christian Church and inside the Wiley House in Whitestown on the property of New Hope Christian Church. We approach counseling concerns with an integrative frame, offering clients the opportunity to grow in understanding of self, relationship with God and others. We work with our clients to recognize unproductive, harmful life patterns, guide them toward healthy coping strategies, and support relationship healing whenever possible.
1 Peter 5:10, And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
If you are struggling or if you know someone who is, please seek support. If would like to learn more about us or want to make an appointment with someone from our team, you can find us here at our website, Refininggracecounseling.com. Stephanie Castle, MA, LMFT / Owner Refining Grace Counseling

Loving Father,
In this month of Mental Health Awareness, we lift up all those burdened by anxiety, depression, and emotional pain. Bring peace to troubled minds and healing to weary hearts. Let each person who walks through our doors feel seen, supported, and surrounded by Your love. Strengthen our counselors, staff, and volunteers as they serve with compassion and grace. May they reflect the care of Christ in every interaction. Help us continue to be a place of refuge and restoration for those in need. Thank You for being near to the brokenhearted and faithful in every struggle. In Jesus’ name, Amen. |
| The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. —Psalm 34:18 (NIV) |
