Dear Friends of Hope,
November is a special month, filled with opportunities to pause, reflect, and recognize the people and blessings that make our lives and our communities better. As I think about this month, three things come to mind: honoring those who have served, caring for those facing health challenges, and giving thanks for the many blessings God has placed in our lives.
Veterans Day reminds us of the incredible sacrifices made by the men and women who have served our country. Their courage, commitment, and willingness to put others before themselves represent the very heart of service. To our veterans and their families, I want to personally say thank you. Your sacrifices have helped protect the freedoms we enjoy, and your example of service continues to inspire us.
November is also National Diabetes Awareness Month, a cause especially close to our hearts at Hope. Diabetes affects so many individuals and families in our community, and for those without health insurance, managing this chronic condition can be especially challenging. Access to regular medical appointments, medications, blood sugar monitoring, and ongoing education can make a tremendous difference. At Hope, we have the privilege of walking alongside these patients, helping them manage their health and prevent serious complications. Thanks to our dedicated medical team, volunteers, community partners, and generous supporters, we can provide the consistent, compassionate care that so many of our neighbors need.
And, of course, November brings us Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays and one that holds a very special place in my heart.
For many years, our family has made it a tradition to gather together for Thanksgiving. I've always been a big fan of faith, family, food, and football, and Thanksgiving has a wonderful way of bringing all four together! Over the years, the faces around our table have changed. We've said goodbye to loved ones who are no longer with us, welcomed new family members, and even changed where we gather. But one thing has never changed: how precious that time together truly is.
As I've gotten older, I've come to appreciate those moments even more. Tomorrow is never promised, and the opportunities we have to gather with the people we love should never be taken for granted. Thanksgiving reminds me that it's not about where we gather or even what's on the table. It's about the people around it, the memories we make, the blessings we sometimes overlook, and taking the time to thank God for all He has given us.
That same spirit of gratitude is something I feel every day at Hope.
I am incredibly thankful for every person who is part of the Hope family. Our patients, who place their trust in us and allow us the privilege of being part of their lives. Our staff and volunteer providers, who give so much of themselves to care for others. Our board members, donors, Faith Partners, Community Partners, and countless friends who believe in this mission and help make it possible. Each of you plays an important role in bringing hope, help, and healing to our community.
What a blessing it is to be part of something where so many people come together, each contributing in their own way, to serve God by serving others.
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, my prayer is that you and your loved ones have an opportunity to slow down, spend meaningful time together, and recognize the many blessings in your lives. And for those who may be facing difficult circumstances, missing someone special, or spending the holiday alone, please know that you are not forgotten and that you are in our prayers.
From my family to yours, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with faith, love, peace, and gratitude.
Thank you for being part of the Hope family. We are truly blessed by you.
With gratitude and blessings,
