Suicide Awareness and Prevention for the LGBTQ community and Their Loved Ones
When someone you care about is struggling, knowing what to say and what to do can feel overwhelming. You don’t need to have all the answers, but having the right tools can help you respond with greater confidence and compassion.
During this free, one-hour workshop, the Care to Change team will help you better understand the unique factors that can contribute to suicide risk within the LGBTQ community, recognize signs that someone may be struggling, and learn practical ways to respond and connect them with help.
This workshop is for parents, friends, teachers, pastors, coaches, coworkers, community leaders, and anyone who wants to be better prepared to support the people in their life.
Come because someone in your life may one day need you to know what to do.
Suicide Awareness & Prevention for Parents
Few things are more frightening for a parent than learning your child is struggling with suicidal thoughts. You may wonder what to say, what not to say, how seriously to take certain behaviors, or how to know when your child needs more help.
This free, one-hour workshop will give parents and caregivers practical guidance for navigating these difficult moments. You’ll learn more about suicide and suicidal thinking, signs that may indicate your child is struggling, how to have important conversations, and steps you can take to help keep your child safe and connected to support.
Whether you are currently walking through this with your child or simply want to be better prepared, you are welcome.

Suicide Awareness and Prevention for Hard Workers, First Responders, Law Enforcement and Their Loved Ones
Hard Working, Hard Issue: First Responders & Construction Workers
In professions where strength, toughness, and getting the job done are part of the culture, asking for help can be difficult. Stress, trauma, physical demands, long hours, and the pressure to keep going can take a toll, sometimes without the people around us realizing how much someone is struggling.
This free, one-hour workshop is designed for first responders, construction workers, supervisors, coworkers, family members, and anyone who cares about someone working in these fields.
You’ll learn how to recognize signs that someone may be struggling, how to start a conversation about suicide, and what to do when someone needs help.
You work hard to look out for each other on the job. Come learn how to look out for each other beyond it.
Suicide Awareness and Prevention in the Church
Suicide and the Church
When someone is struggling with suicidal thoughts, they may turn to a pastor, small group leader, ministry volunteer, or trusted friend before they ever reach a mental health professional. What happens in that conversation matters.
This free, one-hour workshop will equip people in the church to recognize warning signs, ask important questions, respond when someone may be at risk, and connect them with appropriate help. We’ll also talk about how faith communities can respond to mental health struggles in ways that reduce shame and create space for honesty, compassion, and hope.
You don’t have to be a counselor to care well for someone who is hurting. You simply need to be willing to notice, listen, and know what to do next.
Come because someone in your church may one day need you to know what to do.
