God’s Perfect Timing

Recently, we received an email from one of our volunteers sharing just one of the many ways God is at work through the ministry of Hope Healthcare Services. Paraphrased, the email said, “Hope’s donation to FAME was a beautiful example of God’s perfect timing.”

FAME (Fellowship of Associates of Medical Evangelism) is a Christian nonprofit based in Indianapolis that provides medical supplies, supports sustainable healthcare projects, and partners with medical ministries around the world. A partner clinic in Fort Wayne had recently requested supplies and was already planning a trip to Indianapolis later that same week to pick them up. Some of the items Hope was able to share were the exact supplies that clinic needed. What a beautiful reminder that God is always at work, even in ways we do not see at first. We truly want to stop and acknowledge: Great is our God!

One of God’s attributes is His omniscience. He already knew the needs of the clinic in Fort Wayne. He also knew what had been donated to Hope and what we were able to provide. In His perfect timing, those needs and resources came together exactly when they were needed. We are humbled and grateful to play even a small part in His greater plan.

At Hope, we work hard to be good stewards of every donation we receive. We carefully manage our inventory, rotate supplies within our clinic, and make sure items are used as effectively as possible by our providers. At times, we receive donated supplies that are not regularly used in our clinic. Rather than let those resources go unused, one of our volunteers transports them to FAME, where they can be distributed to support healthcare ministries and providers in need. In the same way, we strive to be faithful stewards of every financial gift, using those resources to directly support the ministry taking place here at Hope.

We also make it a practice to pray, both individually and together, for discernment and for the leading of the Holy Spirit. We ask God to guide us as we seek to be vessels of His healing, compassion, and care for every patient He brings through our doors.

This story is just one example of the many ways God’s hand is evident in the day-to-day ministry of Hope. It reminded us that His provision is real, His timing is perfect, and His presence is constant. Our prayer is that hearing this story would encourage your faith just as it encouraged ours.

Prayer

Lord, open our spiritual eyes to see the many ways You are working around us each day. Thank You for providing what is needed, often in ways we could never have planned ourselves. Help us to be faithful stewards of all You entrust to us and willing vessels for Your healing work. We are grateful for the ways You intervene, even when we do not immediately see it. Amen.
