October: A Month of Awareness, Compassion, and Hope

Letter from the Director | October 2026

October is a month that brings attention to two very important issues: National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. While these are very different challenges, both remind us of the importance of compassion, support, and making sure people know that help is available.

At Hope Healthcare Services, we are blessed to have the opportunity to walk alongside individuals and families facing both of these challenges.

For those facing concerns about breast cancer, we help provide access to screenings, diagnostic testing, follow-up care, and resources that can make a life-changing difference. We have seen firsthand how early detection, compassionate care, and simply having someone help navigate the healthcare system can bring hope during an incredibly uncertain time.

For individuals experiencing domestic violence, we recognize that the journey toward healing and safety can be difficult. Through compassionate care and connections with our community partners, we can help individuals find the support, encouragement, and resources they need to begin moving forward.

One thing I've learned through our work at Hope is that we never really know what someone else may be going through. Behind every patient, every conversation, and every story is a person who deserves to be treated with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

As we recognize these important awareness months, I want to offer a simple reminder to anyone facing either of these challenges: You are not alone. There are people who care, resources available, and organizations ready to help.

And to our supporters, volunteers, and community partners, thank you for helping us continue to be a place where people can find hope, help, and healing when they need it most.
